Daikin Industries, Ltd. has strengthened the aspects required for air conditioners, including the adoption of HFC-32 (hereinafter referred to as "R32"), a low-global warming refrigerant that is highly environmentally friendly and energy-saving, and improved basic performance.
"Starting in November 2024, we will be releasing the VRV 7 multi-air conditioner series for buildings, which achieves the industry's highest level of energy efficiency and also contributes to reducing environmental impact and work load", - said in company.
In recent years, there has been an urgent need to address various social issues surrounding air conditioners, such as reducing environmental impact to prevent global warming and achieve carbon neutrality, soaring energy prices, and labor shortages for construction and maintenance. Further improving comfort is also important. Under these circumstances, we have recently announced that the refrigerant for multi-air conditioners for buildings sold in the Japanese domestic market has a GWP of approximately 1/3 of the conventional HFC-410A and is also superior in energy efficiency. Taking advantage of the refrigerant conversion to R32, this product has been strengthened from the perspectives required for air conditioners: energy saving, environmental friendliness, comfort, safe design, construction saving, inter-equipment coordination, and visualization of air quality.
"With this refrigerant conversion, we will also be able to meet the requirements for lower GWP in building multi-air conditioners, which will be gradually required from fiscal 2025 under the Freon Emission Control Law. Our company will continue to aim to reduce environmental impact and increase customer satisfaction by developing and disseminating products that address social issues", - said in Daikin.
