Danfoss has introduced the EKE 100 1VK, a pre-packaged kit for superheat control in low-, medium- and high-pressure applications from 0.5 kW to 32 kW (approx. 1,700 to 109,200 BTU/h). The company said the kit is intended for cold rooms and chillers and is designed to simplify implementation while supporting system reliability.
The package includes an EKE 100 1V stepper motor electronic expansion and superheat controller, a DST P110 pressure transmitter and an AKS PT1000 temperature sensor. Danfoss said the kit is combined with the ETS 5M electronic expansion valve, and that two product codes cover a wide range of applications.
According to Danfoss, the setup can simplify selection, inventory management and installation, while reducing the risk of errors and logistical costs. The company also said direct integration with Danfoss components supports stable control with traditional refrigerants and A2L refrigerants.
Danfoss listed a superheat control accuracy of ±0.5 K (±0.9°F). It also said installation is supported via the integrated EKE display, KoolProg, KoolKey and Modbus with pre-configured wiring, and specified IP67-rated sensors and cables with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C (-40°F to +176°F).
