AREA and the first Chillventa eSpecial

On 13-15 October, AREA was delighted to continue its partnership with Nuremberg Messe as a sponsor of the Chillventa eSpecial.

Over three days, participants from all around the globe met on a virtual platform to make new contacts, share knowledge and work collectively to drive innovation in the sector alongside experts from research and practice who shared their knowledge in numerous lectures.

With its own personalised virtual booth, AREA was able to present its key areas of focus and ongoing projects while AREA representatives, including President Marco Buoni and Olivier Janin, Secretary General, were on hand to interact with visitors and share personal experience and expertise.

With 30 lectures at Chillventa Congress, 75 specialist lectures and over 300 roundtables from 207 exhibitors, the event welcomed over 6,800 participants from 113 countries. These figures are an important insight and testament to the need and importance of such events in our industry.

So, what was high on the agenda? Specialist presentations and lectures, new products and the latest developments and research in the sector dominated the discussions as well as exploring current political frameworks.  The other central topic was of course COVID-19 which was a big feature in all segments with participants analysing its impact on our sector.

Directly related to this topic, AREA was delighted to be a speaker at the EPEE-ASERCOM event at the Chillventa Congress on the first day, “Campfire COVID-19 and EU Recovery Plan: a Challenge or an opportunity”.

On the final day of the event, Marco Buoni, also took part in a round table discussion ‘’REAL Alternatives – the next generation of training and certifications’’ and presented the work AREA is doing on this project and the impact of training and certification across Europe, while also sharing background information on the EU F-gas revision.

Highlighted by Marco during the roundtable was ‘’the importance of training and skills for the future’’ and the right type of training or system for our sector.

While acknowledging that the current F-gas regulation and certification has provided 500,000 certified technicians in the EU and many benefits, Marco stated that ‘’we need something on top of this, and the solution can be REAL Alternatives.’’

In continuing our participation in this new online format, AREA was glad to maintain its long-standing cooperation with the leading international exhibition of the international refrigeration, AC and ventilation and heat pump community.
