COFINAIR has launched TMX, a CTI-certified range of open crossflow cooling towers covering 600 to 5,300 kW for industrial, HVAC, cold chain and data center applications, now available through the group’s international sales and distribution network.
The crossflow configuration is what separates the range from counterflow equipment. Air passes through the heat exchange section at lower velocity, which reduces air-side pressure losses at the same cooling capacity and allows smaller fan motors and lower electrical consumption. A gravity-fed water distribution system further cuts the energy required for water circulation.
High-efficiency PVC fill packs and a balanced L/G ratio allow the TMX open crossflow cooling tower to operate with approaches close to 2 K, producing outlet water temperatures near reference wet-bulb values. Declared thermal performance is independently verified in accordance with CTI Standard STD-201(21), giving specifiers certified ratings for selection and sizing.
Construction is modular, with three independent sections: the cold-water basin, the heat exchange section and the fan section. Inspection hatches and access to all main internal components allow routine maintenance without special tools. The fan section uses dynamically balanced impellers and IP56 IE4 motors, and units are delivered in stackable assembly groups to simplify installation.
Frame, casing and basin are built in Z-725 hot-dip galvanised steel, with FRP and stainless steel variants and optional DecsaCOATING PLUS powder coating applied inside and outside. Optional equipment includes frequency inverters, permanent magnet motors, water treatment, sound attenuation systems and safety devices. Low-noise axial fans, with silent versions available, target noise-sensitive sites.
An optional double-deck configuration develops the heat exchange section vertically, raising thermal output without expanding the footprint. That addresses HVAC systems, industrial plants and data centers where cooling demand is rising but available floor area is fixed.
COFINAIR brings together JACIR in France, GOHL-KTK in Germany and DECSA in Italy, with 300 employees and manufacturing sites across the three countries. The group produces open and closed cooling towers, evaporative condensers, adiabatic coolers and adiabatic condensers.
