The theme of the China Refrigeration Expo 2020 is "Making Steady Progress, Tiding over Difficulties, Leading by Quality and Seeking Innovative Development". In the special period of normalization of the COVID-19 pandemic and the complex and severe context of global economic downturn, shrinking world trade, and restructuring of the international industrial chain, the Expo aims to unite the whole industry to overcome difficulties and seek development jointly. It was held with the purpose of accelerating the formation of the new industrial development pattern that the China refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning industry is dominated by the domestic large-scale cycle, and shares the mutual promotion of the domestic and international double cycles.
China Refrigeration Expo 2020, making its debut in Chongqing this year, covers an exhibition area of about 50,000 square meters. Nearly 500 companies and institutions from 8 countries participated in the Expo, showing the following characteristics.
1. Small and medium-sized enterprises actively participated in the Expo in the new normal of pandemic prevention and control
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning industry has been severely impacted and the global exhibition industry is basically in stagnation. At present, the overall pandemic situation in China is improving. By actively joining in the Expo, small and medium-sized enterprises aim to display their new technologies and products comprehensibly, and looking for business opportunities.
2. Work for professional communication and professional visitors organization is on the rails
During the Expo, the organizing committee will hold 1 theme forum and 17 symposiums, and exhibitors will take the Expo as a platform to hold technical exchange meetings for new products release and new technologies promotion.
The committee will strengthen the organization of professional visitors. In addition to the chief engineer group from the National HVAC Architectural Design Institute, the observing group of refrigeration industry, and the observing group of HVAC high-end users, the Expo this year also organized the observing group from provincial refrigeration societies around the country and visitors from Chongqing and surrounding regions to visit and exchange ideas.
3. Intellectual property protection is highly valued to protect exhibitors’ legal interests
To protect exhibitors’ intellectual property, the organizing committee of the Expo have reviewed the qualifications of exhibitors strictly, and signed letters of commitment for intellectual property protection with all exhibitors. Measures will be taken for exhibitors violating regulations, such as listing them in a blacklist and prohibiting them from participating in the Expo. In addition, an intellectual property booth was set up at the venue, and professionals on law, intellectual property, patents, etc. were invited to provide exhibitors with services in intellectual property disputes.
4. The selection of innovative products at the China Refrigeration Expo will be carried out, and special exhibition areas will be set up for industry hotspots
As a window for exhibitors to release technological innovation, the selection of innovative products fully embody the latest technological achievements and development direction of the industry. In addition to the roadshows of ozone climate technology, release of new achievements in refrigerant substitution and new technologies, the first BIM exhibition was set up at the Expo, making efforts in the field of prefabricated buildings.
5. During a special period, the Expo strictly implement the national policies of pandemic prevention
Under the new normal of the pandemic prevention, the organizing committee of the Expo will strictly implement the national requirements for exhibition during the pandemic to provide a safe showcase and communication platform for exhibitors and visitors, making them feel relieved during the Expo.

In view of the pandemic situation, the organizing committee made full use of new technologies such as the Internet and big data to publicize the Expo in an all-round way with the support of online tools such as live broadcast and self-media, and collected online and offline multi-dimensional promotion channels for exhibitors, making users and visitors who could not visit the site in person participate in the Expo as well.
