Emergent Cold LatAm acquires cold storage facility in Lima, Peru

Emergent Cold LatAm acquires cold storage facility in Lima, Peru

Emergent Cold Latin America has acquired a distribution warehouse in the Lurín district of Lima, Peru, expanding its cold storage capacity in a key metropolitan area.

The facility comprises over 29,000 square meters of built area. Part of the site is occupied by Frialsa Peru, a company acquired by Emergent Cold LatAm earlier this year. The remaining space is leased to major food distribution firms.

This acquisition is part of the company’s infrastructure investment strategy in Peru. Emergent Cold LatAm now operates four facilities in the country, with a combined capacity of more than 635,000 cubic meters and 51,500 pallet positions. These assets support both port logistics and domestic food distribution, along with integrated transport services.

“The agricultural production and food exports in Peru have been showing strong and consistent growth, as well as domestic consumption,” said Joaquin Del Campo, Managing Director for the Pacific region at Emergent Cold LatAm. “These trends support our continued investment in the country’s logistics network to support the growth of our customers.”

Case Study – Effect of Louvers or diffusers on air flow distribution and cooling time on a meat log during Chill cycle

By Kushal Aurangabadkar An experimental analysis was conducted on a cooler space measuring 3.66 m × 6.096 m (12.0 ft × 20.0 ft), equipped with an ammonia refrigeration coil, five 30 cm (12 in.) fans, and five diffusers. The study measured airflow patterns, cooling rates, and heat transfer efficiency in meat storage by testing two configurations:

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Modular Refrigeration Systems in Life Sciences Distribution Centers

by Ramez Naguib, P.E. Introduction Life sciences distribution centers are under immense pressure to deliver consistent temperature control, comply with increasingly stringent regulations, and optimize operational efficiency. Traditional built-up refrigeration systems often prove cumbersome, costly, and slow to implement. In contrast, modular, factory-assembled refrigeration systems have emerged as a compelling alternative. Drawing on lessons from
