INWIC and Senegal’s RENAF Collaborate to Promote Women in Refrigeration

INWIC and Senegal’s RENAF Collaborate to Promote Women in Refrigeration

On 24 September, Ina Colombo, President of the International Network of Women in Cooling (INWIC), met with Sokhna Fall Diawara, President of the National Network of Women in Refrigeration (RENAFF), at the Social Integration Educative Centre in Pikine-Guédiawaye, Senegal. The meeting brought together several RENAF executive members and aimed to reinforce cooperation between the two organisations.

RENAFF unites over 200 women working in refrigeration across Senegal. Its members include students, educators, technicians, and entrepreneurs with qualifications ranging from vocational training to Master’s degrees. The organisation is focused on promoting women’s expertise and professional development in the refrigeration sector.

During the visit, Colombo addressed future technicians, including several young female students, during an electrical engineering class. She encouraged them to continue their studies and consider careers in the refrigeration and cooling industries.

RENAFF members expressed interest in further knowledge exchange and engagement with INWIC activities, particularly in relation to SophiA cooling technologies. They also committed to contributing Senegalese data to the IIR Women in Cooling Database to increase the representation of women from the region.
