The 125,000-pallet-position facility is scheduled to begin operations in summer 2026 and create more than 50 jobs.

NewCold expands Georgia, US site with fully automated frozen warehouse

NewCold announced the launch of a new, fully automated frozen facility at its logistics campus in McDonough, Georgia, expanding its North American operations. The company said the project adds frozen capability alongside the site’s existing automated ambient operation and is intended to support multi-temperature supply chain needs in the Southeast.

According to NewCold, the frozen facility is the first frozen operation at the McDonough site and will provide 125,000 pallet positions. The company said the campus uses its proprietary automation technology and includes automated layer picking.

NewCold said the McDonough campus is designed as a connected hub with integrated infrastructure including rail connectivity, expanded trailer parking, and drop lot capacity to support transportation flows and network flexibility.

The company expects the new warehouse to create over 50 new jobs once fully operational, and said the full site has created over 200 new jobs since Phase 1 opened in April 2024. The frozen facility is expected to be operational in summer 2026.

“With demand for advanced cold chain solutions continuing to grow, this new frozen facility is a natural next step in our North American expansion,” said Mike Shawgo, President of North America at NewCold.
