Alfa Laval signs lifecycle support deal for Indonesia data centers

The four-year audit programme will assess 40 gasketed plate heat exchangers to support cooling reliability and energy efficiency.

Alfa Laval signs lifecycle support deal for Indonesia data centers

Alfa Laval and PT. Sumaraja Indah have signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering long-term lifecycle support for Alfa Laval heat exchanger installations at the H203 and JK7 Data Centre Projects in Indonesia. The collaboration focuses on cooling performance, operational reliability and long-term energy efficiency.

The agreement covers 40 Alfa Laval gasketed plate heat exchangers installed across the two projects. Alfa Laval will provide lifecycle assessment support through its Thermal Visual Condition Audit (VCA) programme, including periodic performance assessments over four years following commissioning.

The agreement comes as Indonesia’s data center capacity expands. According to the source, IT load capacity is projected to increase from approximately 1.44 GW in 2025 to 3.56 GW by 2030 amid increasing demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence and data center capacity.

“Data centers are becoming increasingly important to economic growth and digital development. As demand for computing power continues to grow, energy-efficient cooling and reliable operations become critical. Through this collaboration, we combine Alfa Laval’s expertise in heat transfer and lifecycle services with PT. Sumaraja Indah’s strong project execution capabilities to support the next generation of digital infrastructure in Indonesia,” said Viktor Friberg, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Alfa Laval.

PT. Sumaraja Indah, established in 1984, has experience delivering industrial, commercial and mission-critical infrastructure projects, including Tier III and Tier IV data centers across Indonesia. “Reliable cooling infrastructure plays a vital role in data center operations. Through this collaboration with Alfa Laval, we aim to support long-term performance, operational reliability and energy efficiency for our customers’ facilities,” said Hamidi Markom, President Director, PT. Sumaraja Indah.
