ABRAVA announced CONBRAVA 2027 during the 15th Mercofrio, held by ASBRAV in Porto Alegre, Brazil, from September 15 to 17. The next CONBRAVA will take place on September 15–17, 2027, at São Paulo Expo in São Paulo, with the theme “The Future of HVACR: Efficiency, Intelligence and Decarbonization.”
Charles Domingues, president of CONBRAVA 2027 and an ABRAVA council member, presented the event, which will mark the 20th edition of the congress. The launch formed part of ABRAVA’s wider institutional and technical program at Mercofrio, which brought together HVACR professionals, companies and industry organizations.
ABRAVA’s Building Commissioning Department contributed a panel focused on building commissioning, with Thiago Portes and Marcos Vargas discussing its role in installation quality, efficiency and performance. The National Department of Design and Consulting Companies also participated in the event. During the Refrigeration Seminar organized in connection with Mercofrio, ABRAVA vice president Priscila Baioco moderated the “Technical Debate and Practical Solutions” panel, while Domingues participated as a speaker.
The association also organized a meeting of HVACR organizations during Mercofrio. Participants included representatives from ASBRAV, ASHRAE Brazil, ASHRAE South Chapter, ASHRAE Colombia, Sindratar-RJ, Sindratar-SP and Eletros, alongside ABRAVA representatives. ABRAVA’s delegation included Administrative Council president Leonardo Cozac, vice presidents Marcelo Munhoz, Priscila Baioco and Roberto Montemor, and executive president Paulo Macedo.
ABRAVA’s Porto Alegre program also included a visit to the Midea Carrier plant in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul. Cozac and Macedo met Leonardo Araujo of Institutional Relations, engineering manager Cláudio Kluwe, plant manager Ranieri Calza and production manager Jandir Alos to review the company’s operations and maintain contact with the association member. Female ABRAVA representatives, including Baioco and social director Patrice Tosi, also participated in Mercofrio alongside other women working across the HVACR sector.
