The Italian Association of Refrigeration Technicians (ATF) held its annual assembly on September 25, reviewing its 2026 activities and outlining upcoming initiatives focused on professional training, international projects and F-Gas regulation.
ATF confirmed its leadership for 2026–2027. Prof. Alfredo Sacchi of Politecnico di Torino remains president, supported by Vice President Marco Carlo Masoero, also of Politecnico di Torino, and Secretary Marco Buoni, AREA Board Member and International Affairs. Enrico Buoni, Chiara Bertelli, Simone Portalupi and Federico Riboldi, Councillor for Health of the Piedmont Region, are also members of the board.
Professional development remains a central area of ATF’s activities as technicians face the transition to new refrigerants, changing skills requirements and implementation of the new F-Gas regulatory framework.
The assembly also reviewed international initiatives carried out during 2026, including training activities under projects with the United Nations, programs for technicians and trainers in several countries, and European projects focused on safety and alternative refrigerants. Discussions covered ATF’s role within AREA, cooperation with the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), and activities related to the SKILLSAFE and REAL Alternatives projects.
ATF is now preparing for Chillventa 2026 and events scheduled for 2027, including Refrigera and the next European Conference. Developments in F-Gas regulation will remain a key topic in the association’s professional update activities.
