Clivet is coordinating ZEnITh (Zero Emissions Industrial Technologies), a Horizon Europe project co-funded by the European Union. The initiative brings together 17 partners from six countries to develop standardized and replicable solutions for decarbonizing industrial thermal processes, particularly process heat applications operating below 200°C (392°F).
The project combines high-temperature heat pumps using natural refrigerants, thermal energy storage systems and AI-based energy management platforms. These technologies are intended to optimize energy consumption and facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into industrial processes.
ZEnITh will validate its solutions through pilot-scale and industrial-scale demonstrators. The project also aims to develop tools supporting the replication of these technologies across several sectors, including aluminium production, food processing, paper manufacturing, and the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
As project coordinator, Clivet is contributing to the development of high-temperature heat pumps, the implementation of demonstrators and co-creation activities with stakeholders. The consortium’s work also covers system design, industrial integration, environmental assessment, business models and training.
The project involves companies, universities, research centres and industry associations working across the industrial value chain. Its objective is to develop technically effective, economically sustainable solutions that can be integrated into existing production processes and replicated across different industrial applications.
