bluu unit has signed an agreement to acquire Space Engineering, a UK provider of refrigeration, HVAC and mechanical and electrical (M&E) solutions headquartered in Bristol. The transaction marks bluu unit’s entry into the UK market, following its expansion into Ireland and Switzerland. Completion is expected in Q4 2026.
Space Engineering employs approximately 400 people and generates around £100 million (approximately $133 million) in revenue, making it one of bluu unit’s largest acquisitions to date. The company will serve as the foundation for bluu unit’s planned UK platform, supporting its buy-and-build strategy.
The acquisition will also extend bluu unit’s presence into Hungary through Space Engineering Services KFT, a subsidiary operating an independent local service platform. The transaction therefore adds two countries to the group’s international footprint.
The deal marks bluu unit’s first acquisition of a company with in-house manufacturing capabilities. Space Engineering produces CO2 refrigeration packs and heat pumps and is described as the UK’s largest manufacturer of CO2 refrigeration packs. This manufacturing capacity will add natural-refrigerant technology expertise to the group’s existing capabilities.
Space Engineering’s entire current leadership team will invest alongside bluu unit. Team members have worked at the company for an average of more than 20 years and have over 35 years of industry experience. The parties have agreed not to disclose further financial details of the transaction.
