Carrier to Invest Over $600 Million in Texas Commercial Chiller Plant

Carrier Global Corporation announced plans to invest more than $600 million over the next three years in a new advanced manufacturing and engineering center in Fort Worth, Texas. The site will expand U.S. production of air- and water-cooled commercial chillers. Carrier’s commercial HVAC business currently has record backlog levels, with demand coming from data centers, healthcare, education, industrial markets and other key verticals.

The facility will cover more than 1 million square feet (approx. 93,000 m²), and operations are expected to begin in 2027. It will add manufacturing capacity for advanced thermal management systems, including commercial chillers, and will house state-of-the-art engineering labs alongside production. The project is also intended to strengthen Carrier’s U.S. operations and supply chain footprint.

The new center will create 1,500 jobs in advanced manufacturing, engineering and other roles. It will be part of the AllianceTexas manufacturing hub in Fort Worth. The location was chosen for its skilled workforce, strong manufacturing base and strategic position for the facility’s long-term growth. Carrier will work with dedicated workforce development organizations and partner with local schools and colleges to help prepare future skilled talent for the industry.

The Fort Worth center is expected to pursue LEED certification, in line with Carrier’s 2030 Sustainability and Impact Goals. The added chiller capacity is aimed at customers in data centers, healthcare, education and industrial markets, where Carrier reports a growing pipeline for its commercial HVAC portfolio.

“This investment reflects the strong demand we are securing for high-performance, energy-efficient solutions… By expanding our U.S. manufacturing and engineering footprint, we are increasing capacity for critical technologies, strengthening supply chain resilience and creating high-quality jobs,” said Carrier Chairman & CEO David Gitlin.
