BITZER has welcomed 28 new apprentices and dual students for the 2026 intake across its sites in Schkeuditz, Sindelfingen and Rottenburg-Ergenzingen in Germany. The refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology specialist has taken on 11 apprentices in Schkeuditz and 17 apprentices and dual students at the other two locations.
In Sindelfingen and Rottenburg-Ergenzingen, 13 apprentices are starting training as warehouse logistics specialists, industrial mechanics, mechatronics technicians or technical product designers. Eight are training as industrial mechanics, including two who have transferred from another company and are continuing in their third year. Four dual students are beginning programs in electrical and information engineering with a focus on electronics, Industrial Business Management, computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence, and mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration and air conditioning technology.
The computer science program focused on artificial intelligence and the mechanical engineering program focused on refrigeration and air conditioning technology are being offered for the first time. For the latter, BITZER is working with the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) as a dual partner university for the first time. In total, BITZER employs 42 apprentices and five dual students across Sindelfingen and Rottenburg-Ergenzingen for the 2026 intake.
At Schkeuditz, two of the 11 new apprentices are training as industrial management assistants, two as warehouse logistics specialists and seven as industrial mechanics. The intake marks the first time BITZER has offered industrial management assistant training at the site and includes the first young woman in 20 years to begin training there as an industrial mechanic. BITZER employs around 850 people in Schkeuditz and now has 32 apprentices at the location.
BITZER plans to add two occupations to its Schkeuditz apprenticeship offering for 2027: electronics technicians for industrial engineering, trained in cooperation with an external partner, and production mechanics, trained within the company.

With the new fields of study in computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence and mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration and air conditioning technology, we are creating additional development opportunities for young talent – and strengthening skills that are becoming increasingly important for BITZER and the entire industry,” said Frank Brunner, Head of Training and Further Education at BITZER.
