Daikin Applied Unveils Next-Generation Self-Contained HVAC System with R-32 Refrigerant

Daikin Applied Unveils Next-Generation Self-Contained HVAC System with R-32 Refrigerant

Daikin Applied has introduced the latest generation of its self-contained HVAC system, the Model SWP J-Vintage. This new system is designed for floor-by-floor applications and features the highly efficient, low-global warming potential (GWP) R-32 refrigerant, making it both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

The SWP J-Vintage sets a new benchmark in self-contained units by offering superior efficiency, flexibility, and enhanced performance while addressing key installation and maintenance challenges faced by building owners and facility managers. The system seamlessly integrates with Daikin Applied’s existing self-contained units, incorporating familiar MicroTech controls and a standardized ECM fan array for redundant operation.

The modular design of the SWP J-Vintage allows for easy disassembly and transportation through standard 34-inch doorframes, facilitating straightforward installation in retrofit applications. This modular approach also supports efficient on-site assembly and optimizes space utilization, accommodating the narrow hallways often found in commercial buildings. This flexibility ensures the system can be tailored to meet diverse building infrastructure needs with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

The SWP J-Vintage caters to two primary vertical markets: residential high-rise buildings and mid-rise office-style buildings. Its floor-by-floor usage capability, typically requiring just 1-2 units per floor, offers a distinct advantage for property managers seeking to streamline installation and operation while maintaining high efficiency.

Daikin Applied’s introduction of the SWP J-Vintage underscores its commitment to decarbonizing the HVAC industry and promoting energy-efficient performance. The system’s use of R-32 refrigerant enhances efficiency and safety, ensuring a low charge limit in case of leakage. This initiative aligns with Daikin’s mission to lead the industry towards greater sustainability through the integration of advanced technologies and environmentally friendly solutions.

The launch of the SWP J-Vintage marks a significant milestone in Daikin’s efforts to decarbonize commercial buildings and build a resilient, sustainable future.
