ebm-papst has expanded its NEXAIRA.Fit retrofit solution with an energy efficiency guarantee designed to improve the predictability of energy savings from HVAC modernization projects. The guarantee uses real-time operating data and analytical methods to evaluate system performance and address differences between projected and actual savings.
NEXAIRA.Fit combines the replacement of outdated ventilation fans with highly efficient EC fans and integration into the digital NEXAIRA ecosystem. The system continuously monitors operating conditions, energy consumption, and potential savings. According to ebm-papst, replacing fan technology alone can reduce energy consumption by up to 50%, while additional digital optimization features can increase savings to as much as 70%, depending on the application and operating conditions.
The new guarantee is issued directly to customers by ebm-papst and financially backed by Great Lakes Insurance SE, a subsidiary of Munich Re. It is intended to reduce investment uncertainty and improve the predictability of returns on retrofit projects.
The company also reports results from completed installations. At the Rathaus-Center Pankow in Berlin, Germany, HVAC modernization achieved energy savings of 46%. Further applications at Deutsche Messe AG in Hanover and Diakonie-Klinikum Stuttgart demonstrate the use of EC fans combined with digital operational optimization, including improvements related to operational reliability.
