Emergent Cold Completes Expansion of Its Facility in Villagrán (Guanajuato), Mexico

Emergent Cold Latin America, the largest provider of temperature-controlled logistics and storage services for food in Latin America, has announced the completion of its facility expansion in Villagrán (Guanajuato), Mexico.

The expansion added nearly 7,000 new positions, increasing the facility’s capacity by 16,000 pallets. This project marks the company’s first completion in Mexico, with ongoing investments in expanding another facility in Apodaca and constructing a new warehouse in Monterrey.

Emergent Cold LatAm began its operations in Mexico in September 2022 through the acquisition of Bajo Cero. In January of the following year, it acquired Qualianz, establishing itself as the leading provider of temperature-controlled food storage in the country. Currently, the company operates over 30 strategically located warehouses across Mexico, from Mexico City to Tijuana, boasting a capacity exceeding 1 million cubic meters and nearly 200,000 pallet positions for refrigerated and frozen foods.

Juan Pablo Benitez, Executive Director of Emergent Cold LatAm for Mexico, commented: “Mexico is experiencing a growing demand for high-quality temperature-controlled logistics and storage services. We are committed to investing and developing the best infrastructure and services in the regions our customers need most.”

David Palfenier, Co-Founder and President of Emergent Cold LatAm, highlighted the strategic importance of Mexico for the company’s growth: “Since 2022, we have made significant investments in Mexico and plan to continue with robust expansion. In less than two years, we have completed two acquisitions and announced the expansion of two facilities and the construction of a new warehouse, underlining our commitment to local development.”
