Emergent Cold LatAm has announced plans to build a new temperature-controlled storage facility in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. Located at Parque Circunvalación Norte, the facility will expand the company’s chilled and frozen storage capacity in the country’s northern region, with opening scheduled for summer 2027.
The facility will add 16,000 pallet positions in two phases and create more than 70 jobs. It will support the storage and distribution of food and other temperature-sensitive products, strengthening the company’s logistics infrastructure in the region.
The project forms part of Emergent Cold LatAm’s expansion in the Dominican Republic, where it also operates facilities at the Port of Caucedo and Parque Industrial Duarte in Santo Domingo. With the Santiago facility, the company’s total temperature-controlled storage capacity in the country will reach 43,000 pallet positions. Future expansion plans also include a project in Punta Cana.
“This project in Santiago represents a strategic step for Emergent Cold LatAm and a clear demonstration of our confidence in the Dominican Republic,” said Pedro Bretón, BU Head of Emergent Cold LatAm in the Dominican Republic. “We are investing in infrastructure that will enable our customers to store and distribute their products more efficiently and safely, while reinforcing our commitment to developing an increasingly modern, integrated, and customer-centric logistics network in the country.”
Juan Pablo Benítez, Managing Director of Emergent Cold LatAm for Mexico and the Caribbean, said: “The new facility will allow us to expand our capacity, get even closer to our customers, and provide comprehensive temperature-controlled storage and distribution solutions.”
