LG Electronics reported that its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions across domestic and overseas business sites totaled 842,000 tCO2eq in 2025, below its 2030 target of 878,000 tCO2eq. Its 2025–2026 Sustainability Report also outlines plans for low-GWP refrigerants, heat pumps and data center cooling.
LG’s Eco Solution division covers air conditioning and refrigeration solutions, including chillers, heat pumps, refrigerated and freezer showcases, and data center cooling systems. In response to the phase-out of HFC refrigerants, the division is implementing a transition roadmap toward low-GWP and natural refrigerants.
The company said it is advancing next-generation liquid and immersion cooling solutions for AI data centers, drawing on its thermal management, high-efficiency compressor and refrigerant technologies. LG also identified system air conditioners, heat pumps and commercial HVAC products as part of its high-efficiency B2B energy solutions portfolio.
Across seven major product categories, including commercial and residential air conditioners, LG reduced carbon emissions per unit during product use by 22.5% in 2025 compared with 2020. This exceeded its target of a 20% reduction by 2030. The company also reported a waste recycling rate of 97.3%, above its 2030 goal of 95%.
