Lineage Acquires Bellingham Cold Storage Warehouses in Washington State

Lineage, Inc. has announced the acquisition of three warehouse facilities from Bellingham Cold Storage (BCS), expanding its footprint in the US Pacific Northwest. The purchase includes approximately 24 million cubic feet (about 680,000 cubic meters) of storage capacity and 85,000 pallet positions across three sites: the Bellingham Waterfront Warehouse Center, the Orchard/I-5 Warehouse Center, and the Burlington Dry location.

All facilities are located in Washington state and serve key sectors such as seafood and agriculture. With this acquisition, Lineage now operates 40 facilities in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

“This strategic acquisition positions us to better serve customers in the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” said Brian Beattie, President of North America West at Lineage. “Bellingham has long been a cornerstone of the seafood and agriculture industries, and these facilities will allow us to offer additional supply chain solutions for our customers.”

BCS has operated in the region for nearly eight decades. Doug Thomas, President and CEO of BCS, emphasized the company’s legacy and praised the transition.

“Lineage has recognized BCS as one of the highest-quality cold chain providers in North America, both for the dynamic nature of our operations as well as our exceptional service. I am confident they will be fantastic stewards of the business,” said Thomas.

The acquisition includes warehousing infrastructure at the Port of Bellingham, which Beattie described as a “critical hub” for the industry. Lineage expressed plans to support the port’s modernization project and maintain strong ties with the local workforce.

“BCS is an important business in the community of Bellingham, and we look forward to continuing that tradition and supporting the local economy,” said Beattie.

The integration of BCS operations is expected to strengthen Lineage’s ability to serve supply chains tied to the Pacific Northwest’s seafood and agricultural output.
