Copeland reports emissions, safety and engineering gains in FY2025

Copeland has released its second annual Global Impact Report, outlining FY2025 progress in environmental sustainability, workplace safety and community impact. The company reported a 20% year-over-year reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions and validated its near-term reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative.

Copeland aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 55% by FY2033 from an FY2023 baseline. Renewable energy procurement and onsite solar generation represented 58% of its total global electricity use during FY2025.

The company invested more than 4% of annual revenue in engineering, research and new product development. It also shortened average product testing and engineering cycles by 15%, supporting work related to energy efficiency, lower-GWP and natural refrigerants, and cold-chain applications.

Copeland reduced its global Total Recordable Incident Rate by 22% to 0.21, which the company said was more than 90% below the industry average. Colleague engagement scores rose above the 90th percentile of the manufacturing industry benchmark.

“True environmental impact is realized when sustainability is woven into both our daily operations and our collaborative product engineering,” said Tracy Reiter, Copeland’s chief transformation & sustainability officer. “Connecting our operational discipline with environmental performance allows us to deliver next-generation solutions that directly advance our customers’ efficiency goals.”
