Mitsubishi Electric’s Hatfield Training Centre Achieves LCL Level 3 Accreditation for Heat Pump Training

Mitsubishi Electric, the UK’s leading heat pump manufacturer, has announced that its Hatfield Training Centre has been officially accredited as a LCL Level 3 training centre for air source heat pumps. This milestone underscores Mitsubishi Electric’s dedication to advancing education and skill development in the renewable heating sector.

Empowering Installers with Accredited Training

The Hatfield Training Centre’s LCL Level 3 accreditation ensures that installers receive industry-recognized training for heat pump installation and maintenance. Participants who meet the grant eligibility criteria can benefit from a £500 grant, covering most of the training cost. Upon completing the three-day course, installers earn the LCL Awards Level 3 Certificate, recognized by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). This qualification solidifies their competency in the renewable energy market.

Mitsubishi Electric also offers a specialized two-day training course focused on low-temperature heating and hot water systems, further enhancing the skills of renewable heating professionals.

Advancing Sustainable Heating Solutions

The LCL Level 3 award, a nationally recognized qualification, highlights Mitsubishi Electric’s commitment to providing training programs that meet the rigorous standards of the industry. These programs, centered around Mitsubishi Electric’s award-winning Ecodan heat pumps, equip participants with the essential skills to succeed in the growing renewable energy market.

Lance Hutchison, Head of Customer Experience at Mitsubishi Electric, emphasized:
"We are thrilled to receive the LCL Level 3 accreditation. This recognition reinforces our commitment to sustainability and highlights the importance of equipping installers with the skills they need to drive the transition to renewable energy heating solutions."

Supporting the UK’s Net Zero Goals

As the UK strives toward net zero carbon emissions by 2050, heat pumps have emerged as a vital technology for reducing carbon footprints. Mitsubishi Electric is actively contributing to this goal by manufacturing energy-efficient heat pumps at its Livingston factory and providing high-quality training to ensure a skilled workforce.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Expert Training

The Hatfield Training Centre boasts cutting-edge facilities equipped with the latest Ecodan heat pumps. The centre’s experienced trainers provide comprehensive education through hands-on sessions, classroom-based learning, and innovative virtual reality technologies. These resources ensure participants gain an in-depth understanding of heat pump systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
