Secop marks 15-year milestone with global anniversary tour

Secop is celebrating 15 years under its current brand, highlighting a broader legacy of over 65 years in compressor technology and refrigeration solutions. The company announced a global tour across key sites to honor its history, employees, and technological achievements.

Originally known as Danfoss Compressors, Secop has contributed to major developments in the refrigeration sector. Milestones include the launch of the SC compressor platform in 1972, early innovations in battery-driven DC compressors in 1977, and advancements in natural refrigerants and variable-speed technology from the 1990s onward.

Current focus areas include refrigeration for electric vehicles, medical cold chain solutions, and the use of natural refrigerants such as propane. Notable developments include a dedicated medical compressor range introduced during the pandemic, the compact BD Nano compressor for onboard EV applications, and an expanded portfolio of propane-based solutions.

The anniversary tour will visit locations in Germany, Slovakia, the United States, Italy, and China. Each stop will spotlight local contributions to Secop’s operations—from R&D and production to customer service and sales. The tour will conclude in Flensburg, Germany, where the official anniversary celebration will take place.

“Powered by experience… because Secop (former Danfoss Compressor) developed key technologies for the current refrigeration market,” the company stated in its anniversary message. “... inspired by the future.”
