Mitsubishi Electric to Establish IT Cooling Plant in Ohio

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will establish MEHITS US, Inc. in August 2026 to manufacture IT cooling equipment in Mason, Ohio. The new company will operate under Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings, Inc. and support growing demand for IT cooling systems in the United States.

MEHITS US will invest approximately USD 30 million to renovate and repurpose part of a production facility operated by Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc. Production is scheduled to begin in April 2027.

The local manufacturing operation is intended to shorten lead times from production to delivery and support a stable product supply. Mitsubishi Electric also plans to develop products based on local requirements for energy savings and high efficiency and expand its lineup to include equipment compatible with liquid cooling.

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. currently supplies IT cooling equipment in the United States together with power systems, including uninterruptible power supplies. The cooling systems are developed and manufactured by Italy-based Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A.

Mitsubishi Electric also plans to strengthen system design, sales and maintenance services in the United States. The company said demand for industrial infrastructure is increasing as investment in AI-related infrastructure expands, creating a need for equipment that can operate stably and energy-efficiently.
