GEA Unveils Grasso M Compressor

GEA is introducing the Grasso M, a cutting-edge screw compressor designed for industrial and marine applications that promises significant reductions in total cost of ownership. The GEA Grasso M is engineered for maximum energy efficiency, consuming an average of three to five percent less drive energy than previous models, which translates to substantial savings in energy costs.

A standout feature of the GEA Grasso M is its oil pump-free operation, which results in lower energy consumption and reduced spare parts costs for refrigeration system operators. Additionally, the integration of the suction filter and coupling housing simplifies installation, enhancing convenience for users.

The compressor's energy efficiency is further supported by its stepless capacity control in conjunction with an extended, variable Vi range (internal volume ratio). With a variable speed range from 1,000 to 6,000 rpm, the Grasso M enables extensive application possibilities and maximizes efficiency at both full and partial loads.

The sophisticated design, coupled with low parts complexity, ensures high reliability and ease of servicing, thus reducing energy, service, and maintenance costs. These features contribute to the overall reduction of operating costs for refrigeration systems.

Key Highlights & Technical Features:

  • Maximum Efficiency in Compact Design: Delivers high performance in a small footprint.
  • Ease of Service and Low Maintenance: Designed for straightforward servicing with minimal maintenance needs.
  • Wide Speed Range: Operates from 1,000 to 6,000 rpm for optimal efficiency in various load conditions.
  • Infinitely Variable Power Control: Features a frequency converter and/or slide valve system for precise power management.
  • Advanced Control System: Equipped with the GEA Omni control system, featuring a high-resolution 15.6” touchscreen.
  • Versatile Refrigerant Compatibility: Suitable for natural ammonia (R717) and all common refrigerants.
  • Impressive Delivery Volume: Ranges from 231 to 870 m³/h at 2,940 rpm.
  • High Permissible Pressure: Rated for 28 bar and 52 bar pressures.

The launch of the GEA Grasso M compressor exemplifies GEA's commitment to innovation and efficiency in the industrial and marine sectors, setting new standards for total cost of ownership while supporting sustainable operations.
