Vertiv has expanded its CoolPhase Perimeter PAM air-cooled range in EMEA with new system ratings and the CoolPhase Condenser, aiming to improve energy efficiency and support compliance with the EU F-Gas Regulation 2024/573. The upgraded solution is now available across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and is designed for small, medium, and edge data centers.
The CoolPhase Perimeter PAM range now integrates the EconoPhase Pumped Refrigerant Economizer (PRE), which enhances free cooling by using a pumped refrigerant circuit that operates with significantly less power than traditional compressors. The system uses R-513A refrigerant, offering 70% lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) than R-410A, while also being non-flammable and low in toxicity.
According to Sam Bainborough, VP Thermal Management, EMEA at Vertiv, “With this latest addition to the Vertiv CoolPhase Perimeter PAM range, we're making our direct expansion offering more flexible while addressing two critical challenges faced by data centre operators today: environmental compliance and operational efficiency.”
The system includes features such as variable speed compressors, staged coils, patented filter technology, and integrated control via Liebert iCOM. This enables coordinated operation with CoolPhase Condenser units, allowing for optimised performance, efficiency, and system flexibility.
The CoolPhase Perimeter PAM is part of Vertiv’s broader thermal product portfolio and is supported by the company’s global service organisation throughout its lifecycle—from design to maintenance.
