V Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Seminar – Energy Efficiency and the Challenges of Refrigeration

On the 25th and 26th of June, the National Department of Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration of ABRAVA – Brazilian Association of Refrigeration Air-Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating held the V Seminar on Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration which addressed the theme “Energy Efficiency and the Challenges of Refrigeration”, which brought to the seminar a comprehensive look at achieving energy efficiency in refrigeration from an economic and sustainable point of view, as the lectures pointed out paths to best practices, provided knowledge of new technologies, and quality technical information.

For Renato Majarão, president of DN Refrigeração at ABRAVA, “When it comes to energy, I think that the cleanest energy is the one we don't use, reducing use means reducing emissions, and this is our challenge in the refrigeration sector. I see it as a mission accomplished by delivering this event to the sector and the association. The quality of the lectures presented also stands out, with cases, many examples of new technologies and applications. The participation of qualified audiences, such as sector professionals, academia, partners and end customers. I also draw attention to the participation of special guests at this event, representatives of FIESP, ENBPAR, ABRABE and BRF. I leave here an invitation, for those who cannot participate, to check out the seminar, which is available on ABRAVA’s YouTube channel”.

The Seminar fulfilled its objective by gathering and disseminating information to companies in the industrial and commercial refrigeration sector, professionals working in the areas, client sector, academia, among others. The event took place in a hybrid format, in the auditorium of FIESP – Federation of Industries of São Paulo, and online via YouTube, thus allowing ABRAVA to fulfill its mission of national action.

The V Seminar's program includes 16 technical lectures and guests divided into two days of the event, and four panels ending with round tables, mediated by Luiz Villaça, VP of DN Refrigeração.

The opening of the event was attended by Engº Arnaldo Basile, executive president of ABRAVA, who highlighted the importance of the event, in the week in which International Refrigeration Day is celebrated, June 26th, which this year presents the theme “Temperature Matters ”.

The Seminar featured guest lectures: Anícia Pio, from FIESP (Federation of Industries of São Paulo), who brought the theme “Climate change and energy security” to the event; George Soares, from Procel/ENBPar (Brazilian Nuclear and Binational Energy Participation Company) who addressed the topic “Advances in public policies on energy efficiency in refrigeration and air conditioning”; Cristiane Foja, from ABRABE (Brazilian Beverage Association) with the theme “Energy Efficiency and Emissions in the Alcoholic Beverage sector in Brazil”; and, Sammer Ceroni, from BRF Global.

The sponsoring companies were also on the Seminar schedule with lectures, they are: Armacell, Chemours, Copeland, Danfoss, Ebmpapst, Evapco, Full Gauge, Jonhson Controls, Klimatix, Mayekawa, RAC and SANHUA. The event also had the support of co-sponsors: Guntner, Mebrafe and Refrio.

The 5th Refrigeration Seminar was co-hosted by SINDRATAR SP, and supported by several entities from the sectors represented, including: ABIMAQ, ABNT, ABRABE, ABRAFAC, ABRAINC, ABRAMAN, ABRAVA Exporta, ABRINSTAL, ANAMACO, ANPRAC, ASBRAV, ASHRAE, BRASINDOOR , FEBRAVA, FEI, IBAPE, IBF, Institute of Engineering, and SMACNA.
