Panasonic Expands Aquarea Heat Pump Range with New M and N Series Models

Low-GWP refrigerants, compact indoor units and cloud connectivity support flexible residential installations at 3, 5, 7 and 9 kW.

Panasonic Expands Aquarea Heat Pump Range with New M and N Series Models

Panasonic Heating & Cooling has introduced two additions to its Aquarea residential heat pump range: the R290-based Aquarea High-Performance M Series with compact indoor and outdoor units, and the Aquarea High-Performance N Series using R454C refrigerant in a split configuration. Both ranges offer heating capacities of 3, 5, 7 and 9 kW and are designed to provide installation flexibility for residential applications.

The expanded M Series features a single-fan outdoor unit measuring 996 × 1,200 × 430 mm (39.2 × 47.2 × 16.9 inches). It can be combined with a compact all-in-one indoor unit, a bi-bloc system or a standalone control solution. The new all-in-one unit stands 1,427 mm (56.2 inches) high, 215 mm (8.5 inches) lower than the existing model. Using R290 refrigerant with a GWP of 0.02, the system delivers water temperatures up to 75°C (167°F) at -10°C (14°F) ambient temperature and operates down to -28°C (-18.4°F). Energy ratings reach A+++ at 35°C (95°F) flow temperature, while domestic hot water temperatures reach 65°C (149°F) without an electric heater.

The N Series uses R454C refrigerant with a GWP below 150 and connects indoor and outdoor units through refrigerant pipework. It supports piping lengths up to 50 m (164 ft) and height differences up to 30 m (98.4 ft). Energy efficiency ratings reach A++ at 55°C (131°F) and A+++ at 35°C (95°F), with domestic hot water performance rated up to A+. The redesigned all-in-one indoor unit measures 1,575 mm (62 inches) high, with a footprint of 599 × 602 mm (23.6 × 23.7 inches).

Both ranges incorporate installation and servicing features including rear castors, front height adjusters, top-access wiring and magnetic access panels. The M Series 5 kW prototype achieves sound pressure levels from 26 dB(A) at five metres (16.4 ft), with an ErP sound power level of 50 dB(A). The N Series 5 kW outdoor unit has an ErP sound power level of 58 dB(A).

Cloud Adaptors are supplied as standard with indoor units in both ranges, enabling remote heating and hot water control through the Panasonic Comfort Cloud App and remote maintenance through Aquarea Service Cloud. The N Series is available across Europe, while the 5, 7 and 9 kW M Series models are scheduled to join the range in spring 2027.
