REHVA Senior Policy & Advocacy Officer Francesco Robimarga attended several sessions at the Eurovent Annual Meeting 2026 on 20 May, where Eurovent and REHVA also formalised their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding.
The MoU was signed at the REHVA Brussels Summit and marks a milestone in collaboration between the two organisations. Eurovent represents the European HVACR manufacturing industry, while REHVA brings together heating, ventilation and air conditioning professionals and building design engineers across Europe.
A key part of the meeting was the Policy Hour, an open session of nearly three hours that brought together European Commission officials and industry experts. The first part covered the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, the Single Market agenda, the F-Gas Regulation and the PFAS restriction process.
Robert Nuij of DG ENER outlined obligations and next steps for Member States under the revised EPBD. Salvatore D’Acunto of DG GROW addressed the regulatory environment for product manufacturers and trade barriers at Member State level. Arno Kaschl of DG CLIMA reviewed the F-Gas Regulation, while Florina-Andreea Pantazi of DG GROW presented the PFAS restriction process and its potential implications for refrigerants and other substances used in HVACR equipment.
The second part included a European HVACR market overview by Yannick Cotrelle of Eurovent Market Intelligence. Georgios Takoudis and Niels Ladefoged of DG ENER introduced the Code of Conduct for Energy Smart Appliances, and Jacopo Tattini of DG GROW presented the Industrial Accelerator Act, including proposed amendments to the Net-Zero Industry Act and relevance for the heat pump sector.
REHVA said it will continue fostering policy developments in the HVAC sector, maintaining relations with its supporters and engaging in EU consultations and legislative processes.
