Trane has introduced new HVAC solutions aimed at improving energy efficiency, expanding electrified heating options and simplifying system modernization in commercial buildings in the US. The additions include the Agility Twinplex Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller, IntelliPak 1 Rooftop Heat Pump Units and enhanced Axiom Vertical Stack Water Source Heat Pumps.
The Agility Twinplex Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller (Model HDTA) is now available in capacities up to 800 tons (approx. 2,813 kW). Its Twinplex configuration uses dual compressors, while bolt-together construction and a narrow footprint are designed to simplify installation in new and existing buildings. The chiller exceeds ASHRAE 90.1-2022 efficiency requirements, features Rapid Restart capability and uses lower-GWP R-513A refrigerant. Harmonic filters and thermal energy storage are available as options.
The IntelliPak 1 Rooftop Heat Pump Units are available from 30 to 60 tons (approx. 105 to 211 kW). Designed to match the footprint of legacy IntelliPak 1 units, they can eliminate the need for curb adaptors during replacement projects. The units use variable-speed eFlex compressors and fans and offer auxiliary modulating SCR electric heat and hybrid dual-fuel heating capabilities, along with connected controls and diagnostics.
Trane has also enhanced its Axiom Vertical Stack Water Source Heat Pumps for multi-story buildings. The updates include a factory-installed energy recovery ventilator option for preconditioning incoming outdoor air and a shorter 65-inch (approx. 1.65 m) cabinet for tighter spaces. The updated chassis remains backwards compatible with legacy units to simplify replacements.
