Vertical Cold Storage has acquired Arctic Logistics, a cold storage facility located in Canton, Michigan, marking the company’s fifth facility acquisition in the past year. The move strengthens its presence in the U.S. Midwest and expands its capabilities in cross-border trade with Canada. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The 140,000-square-foot (13,006 m²) facility at 4360 South Haggerty Road features 19 dock doors and more than 20,000 pallet positions. Originally constructed in 1993 and expanded in 1999, the warehouse includes blast freezing, case picking, kitting, and cross-docking capabilities. It offers a temperature range from -20°F to +40°F (-29°C to +4°C) and is certified for USDA inspections. The site also provides import and export services, supporting international trade with Canada from a location just minutes from the border.

Following the acquisition, Vertical Cold Storage plans to roll out its technology and operational systems at the site. The facility is positioned to support a variety of frozen and perishable commodities, including poultry, retail foods, and foodservice items.
