Vyoma.AI, L&T’s integrated AI cloud and hyperscale data center business, has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 52 MW AI-ready green data center in Chennai, India. The facility is designed to support high-density AI workloads, cloud infrastructure and data localisation requirements.
The new data center will incorporate direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology for thermal management of high-density computing systems. It will also integrate renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies as part of its sustainability strategy. The facility is intended to serve hyperscalers, neoclouds and AI developers.
The project forms part of L&T’s planned gigawatt-scale AI Factory campus in Chennai. The campus already includes an operational 30 MW facility hosting advanced AI compute clusters and has 150 MVA of power infrastructure readiness.
“The groundbreaking of our 52 MW Chennai data center marks a significant step in strengthening India’s digital infrastructure ecosystem. As AI adoption accelerates, the data center is being designed to deliver the performance, scalability and resilience required for next-generation workloads while advancing sustainable, low-carbon digital infrastructure,” said Prashant Chiranjive Jain, Managing Director of Vyoma.AI.
The development is part of Vyoma.AI’s national expansion roadmap, which targets more than 250 MW of data center capacity across India.
