UNEP U4E is hosting a webinar on 20 July 2023, at 14:00 – 15:30 UTC, with experts from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Government of Brazil to explain the Model Regulation Guidelines for Energy-Efficient and Climate-Friendly Commercial Refrigeration Equipment and provide insights on the lessons learned in putting them into practice.
The “Model Regulation Guidelines (Guidelines) for Energy-Efficient and Climate-Friendly Commercial Refrigeration Equipment” complement United for Efficiency’s (U4E’s) “Model Regulation Guidelines for Refrigerating Appliances” and other supporting resources. This is voluntary guidance for developing and emerging economy governments that are considering a regulatory or legislative framework requiring new refrigeration equipment to be energy efficient and use refrigerants that have lower global warming potential (GWP) compared with typical legacy refrigerants.
The webinar is intended to provide participants with an overview of how and why the guidelines were developed, explain the contents, and offer practical examples of the contents being applied in a real-world setting.
