The air-conditioning segment is projected to grow at the fastest pace, reflecting interest in energy-efficient systems. Industrial refrigeration applications are supporting the adoption of ammonia and carbon dioxide refrigerants, while commercial uses continue to expand, particularly in supermarkets and cold storage facilities.
By end-user, the industrial sector accounts for over 45% of the market, propelled by food and beverage production and chemical manufacturing. The commercial segment is expected to see the highest growth, with rising demand in retail and commercial buildings. Residential use is also increasing as consumers seek environmentally friendly cooling technologies. Government policies are supporting energy efficiency improvements across all segments.
Regionally, Asia-Pacific leads the market with over 44% share and is projected to grow at over 7% CAGR, with Japan and Australia among early adopters. Europe maintains strong momentum through regulatory initiatives, while North America shows significant potential, notably with California’s mandate to shift to ultra-low GWP refrigerants by 2035.
