FreezPak Logistics has opened a new temperature-controlled logistics facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey, serving the New Jersey and New York ports. Developed by Saoud Development, the real estate development arm of FreezPak, the site is FreezPak’s seventh facility in New Jersey.
The facility provides up to 9,849,000 ft³ (approx. 278,900 m³) of temperature-controlled capacity. Services include cold storage, container plugin, cross-docking, container unloading, transportation, repacking, e-commerce fulfillment and USDA/FSIS inspections.
Located within 5 miles (approx. 8 km) of the Port of APM Terminals, the facility provides access to ports and major highway corridors. FreezPak said the location will support import and export operations for industries including food distribution, pharmaceuticals, seafood and other perishable goods.
The new site expands FreezPak’s network, which includes facilities in Florida, Massachusetts, California, Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia and multiple New Jersey locations. The company said additional locations in key port markets are expected to be announced this year.
“We are extremely pleased to continue investing in and developing mission-critical infrastructure in the markets that matter most to our customers. Our ability to design, develop, and operate these facilities gives us a unique advantage and allows us to continuously raise the standard for modern cold storage,” said David Saoud, Co-Owner of FreezPak Logistics and Saoud Development.
