CSafe has launched Silverskin RE PMC, a reusable, PMC-sized thermal cover for multi-pallet air freight shipments of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and life sciences products. The cover is backed by a full refurbishment model and is available for purchase and rental.
Silverskin RE PMC uses six-layer compressible insulation and provides thermal protection for payloads at +2°C to +8°C (35.6°F to 46.4°F) and +15°C to +25°C (59°F to 77°F). Its modular design is intended to support consistent application and removal at cold chain touchpoints.
At 1.5 meters (approx. 4.9 ft) in height, the thermal cover accommodates up to eight Euro pallets or six US pallets. CSafe said the refurbishment model is designed to sustain the cover’s performance throughout its operational lifecycle and support repeated use in air freight environments.
The company positions the reusable design as a way for pharmaceutical shippers, freight forwarders and airlines to reduce the number of covers disposed of during repeated, large-scale shipments and lower associated disposal costs.
