Carrier has introduced the AquaSnap 61WH, a water-source heat pump designed to replace conventional boiler systems in existing buildings and support heating and hot water applications in new buildings and industrial facilities. The unit delivers hot water at temperatures up to 78°C (172°F).
The AquaSnap 61WH uses R-290 refrigerant, which has an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP). The PFAS-free system is designed to support decarbonisation objectives and evolving regulatory requirements.
The heat pump features a modular architecture with heating capacities ranging from 50 to 824 kW (approximately 171,000 to 2,812,000 BTU/h). This configuration allows capacity to be matched to project requirements and expanded in the future. Compact dimensions, front-service access and multidirectional connections are intended to simplify installation in space-constrained locations.
For noise reduction, the AquaSnap 61WH incorporates an advanced acoustic design, inverter compressors and a standard night mode. Carrier identifies urban, residential, healthcare and hospitality environments among its intended applications.
“With AquaSnap® 61WH, Carrier is helping make the transition from conventional boilers to heat pump technology simple and reassuring. Combining water-source technology, hot water production up to 78°C, refrigerant R-290 and modular flexibility, the solution is designed to support reliable comfort, easy integration and long-term regulatory alignment,” said Eric Pollet, Product Manager, Market Direction Products & Systems at Carrier.
