Flex has expanded its prefabricated modular data center portfolio with new AI Modules integrating power, high-density computing and liquid cooling. Announced on October 12, 2026, the factory-built systems are designed to reduce AI infrastructure deployment timelines by up to 50% compared with traditional construction methods.
The AI Modules combine three infrastructure components: an 800 VDC Power Rack for power conversion and distribution, advanced cooling distribution units (CDUs) for liquid cooling, and high-density IT racks integrating AI servers, networking and high-speed interconnects. The cooling systems are designed to manage heat generated by power-intensive AI workloads.
The modules are pre-engineered, assembled, integrated and tested in factory environments while data center sites are being developed. According to Flex, this approach reduces on-site integration complexity and accelerates the deployment of AI computing capacity.
The expanded portfolio belongs to Flex’s Cloud and Power Infrastructure (CPI) segment, which the company plans to separate into Axiom Solutions International, Inc. (Axiom), an independent publicly traded company, in the first quarter of 2027. Flex is already manufacturing prefabricated modular solutions for hyperscale customers and has more than three million square feet (approximately 279,000 m²) of dedicated data center infrastructure manufacturing capacity in the United States.
“Meeting the demands of AI infrastructure at scale requires more than incremental improvements. It requires rethinking how power, compute and cooling work together as a system,” said Chris Butler, expected Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at Axiom.
