Equinix has introduced the Equinix Enhanced Performance Innovation Centers (EPIC), a global network of production-ready liquid cooling environments designed to help enterprises test and deploy high-density AI infrastructure. The centers are operational in Frankfurt, London, Osaka, Paris and Sydney, with additional locations planned for 2027.
Located inside active Equinix data centers, EPIC facilities allow customers to evaluate liquid-cooled GPU and CPU platforms alongside technology partners and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Enterprises can test AI training and inference workloads under real-world conditions, assess cooling system integration and identify infrastructure or operational issues before production deployment.
The program addresses infrastructure requirements associated with increasingly powerful GPU platforms, higher rack densities and growing demand for liquid cooling. Equinix provides technical support to help customers evaluate how cooling, power, networking and facility operations work together. The centers also offer hands-on experience with liquid cooling technologies and their operational requirements.
EPIC builds on Equinix’s previous infrastructure testing initiatives. The company introduced its first Co-Innovation Facility in 2022 to support collaborative technology testing and launched Solution Validation Centers in 2024 to help customers validate deployments across distributed environments.
“Liquid cooling is an essential component of modern enterprise infrastructure and a hard requirement for customer’s deploying AI,” said Brian Stein, Senior Vice President, Infrastructure Products and Services at Equinix. “EPIC provides businesses with a place to test, validate and build with confidence before they commit to large-scale deployments. We’re putting our global infrastructure footprint and unmatched ecosystem to work to accelerate the path from concept to production for our customers.”
