The Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating (ABRAVA) has launched its Manifesto for the Decarbonization of the HVACR Sector, reaffirming its commitment to a more sustainable future for the industry and Brazil.
Led by ABRAVA’s Environment Directorate and National Environment Department, the manifesto highlights the role of Brazil’s heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration sector in the transition to a low-carbon economy. It emphasizes innovation, energy efficiency, sustainable technologies and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
The document calls for coordinated action by industry, government, technical organizations, academia and society. ABRAVA said decarbonization depends on cooperation among these groups.
ABRAVA is an official observer to the Montreal Protocol and participates in initiatives related to ozone-layer protection and climate-change mitigation. These include implementation of the Kigali Amendment, which establishes the gradual reduction of hydrofluorocarbon production and consumption.
The association also works with Brazilian ministries, development and environmental agencies, and international organizations on public policies, training programs and the transition to technologies with lower environmental impact. Through the manifesto, ABRAVA reaffirmed its mission to support sustainable HVACR development through technical knowledge, innovation and cooperation across the supply chain.
