CubeCold acquires Ferroice to expand cold storage capacity in Spain

CubeCold has expanded its presence in Spain through the acquisition of Ferrocold 2025 S.L., Ferrolaboratorios Albacete S.L. and Ferroice S.L., collectively referred to as Ferroice. The transaction strengthens CubeCold’s logistics capabilities in the country and increases its cold storage capacity in the Castilla-La Mancha region, an important agricultural and food production area.

Ferroice operates more than 200,000 m3 of temperature-controlled storage for products at −17°C and above. The company has over ten years of experience serving agricultural and frozen food producers, processors and distributors, including those working with fruits, vegetables and ice cream. Its facilities include 35 temperature-controlled chambers with capacity for 210,000 storage positions.

The company also runs an in-house fleet of ambient and temperature-controlled trucks integrated with its storage operations. According to CubeCold, this setup provides customers with operational control and flexibility across storage and distribution activities.

“The addition of Ferroice to CubeCold secures our Spanish and European growth strategy. It strengthens our footprint in a key agricultural region, expands our capacity, and enhances our ability to support customers with reliable, high-quality end-to-end cold chain solutions,” said Paul Jukes, Chief Operating Officer at CubeCold.

CubeCold said it will maintain Ferroice’s branding and services while continuing to invest in projects aimed at expanding chilled and frozen storage capacity for new and existing customers. “We are extremely pleased to welcome Ferroice into CubeCold Spain. This acquisition represents a major step forward in strengthening our presence in Castilla-La Mancha, a key agricultural and food-producing region in Spain,” said Jordi Fabregat, Managing Director of Spain at CubeCold.
