IKI Supermarket Enhances Shopping Experience with NDL Refrigeration Equipment

The IKI supermarket chain in Lithuania, part of the REWE retail group, has implemented the FREOR NEW DESIGN LINE (NDL) refrigeration equipment across its new and renovated stores.

Recently, IKI opened a new supermarket in the Europa shopping center in Vilnius, aiming to meet the needs of busy city center residents. The store's layout and product assortment cater specifically to those seeking quick and efficient shopping experiences, especially during lunchtime.

FREOR Refrigeration Equipment Implementation

The NDL refrigeration equipment, known for its modern design with clean lines and sharp corners, was chosen to complement the store's stylish aesthetic. The most popular units, the multideck NDL JUPITER and upright freezer NDL ERIDA, were installed along the walls to maximize space utilization. This setup allows for a smooth transition from frozen products to fresh dairy and meat items, enhancing the shopping experience.

The NDL PLUTON SPACE semi-vertical units were strategically placed at the front to display grab-and-go products, ensuring high visibility. NDL IDA QB and NDL IDA QB H1 self-service counters were also positioned around the store to highlight promotional items, boosting sales by maintaining customer engagement with promoted products.

Additionally, the NDL VEGA SPACE QB serve-overs for fresh meat and fish were multiplexed into a single line, complete with both low-glass and high-glass models, further enhancing the supermarket's functionality and appearance.

Sustainable Cooling Solution

All NDL refrigeration equipment connects to a centralized remote cooling system using CO2 (R744) refrigerant, making it an environmentally friendly and future-proof solution.

IKI's decision to integrate NDL refrigeration equipment not only meets the immediate needs of city center shoppers but also elevates the overall shopping experience through thoughtful design and sustainable technology.
