As a socially and environmentally responsible company, the BulMag supermarket chain in Bulgaria is in the process of renovating its stores and replacing old refrigeration systems with new eco-friendly solutions. The goal of the company is to replace old systems with new environmentally-friendly refrigeration equipment in all of the BulMag supermarkets by the year 2024.
Three of BulMag supermarkets are already fully retrofitted with FREOR refrigerated display showcases from the Green Wave R290 line, connected to the Hydrolooprefrigeration system.
Green and Cost-Effective System for Store’s Refrigeration Department
„After a long study of the best technologies in this direction, we trusted the company FREOR – one of the world leaders in the production of equipment operating on the Hydroloop System and natural gas R290. Their motto Thinking Green motivates us to get involved and contribute to reducing the negative impact of the old-generation fluorinated gas systems.
We started the project in the spring of 2020 and we can boast that in less than 6 months we completely re-equipped 3 BulMag supermarkets – 2 in Varna and 1 in Shumen. These stores are already operating based on natural coolants, such as glycol and propane, which have almost zero impact on ozone depletion, fully comply with the environmental regulations, and, besides, save more than 15% on electricity!“ says BulMag‘s website publication.
The Renewed Supermarket in Varna
A recently opened refurbished BulMag supermarket in Varna was equipped with Hydroloop Glycol system. The pump station ensures the circulation of glycol within the system. The following FREOR products, operating with R290 refrigerant, are ensuring perfect product presentation:
- Refrigerated multidecks JUPITER (7 units) and JUPITER LOW FRONT (8 units), various autonomous and semi-autonomous models, both open front and glass doors cabinets (43 m in total). PanDur Eco Door T doors, made of insulated glass, ensure energy savings, and modern frameless construction guarantee a fully transparent single-glass look.
- Semi-vertical display cabinets PLUTON SPACE (2 units, 7,5 m in total), operating in stand-alone mode.
- Freezer cabinet ERIDA (8,5 m), operating in stand-alone mode.
- Refrigerated counter line of VEGA SPACE S (6 m), operating in Hydroloop Glycol mode.
- Refrigerated multi-level serve over counter DIONA S H2 and a double-decker showcase DIONA S DD, combining both serve over and self-service functions.
