Emerson Launches Copeland Outdoor Units for Low Temperature Applications with A2L Refrigerants

Copeland ZX refrigeration units provide a low GWP solution for low temperature refrigeration systems in commercial food retail and food service.

Emerson announces the launch of the expanded portfolio of Copeland ZX low temperature refrigeration units in Europe. The series features a new design which is fully optimized for both A2L and A1 refrigerants and provides additional benefits in terms of efficiency, reliability and safety for wholesalers, installers, and system operators.

Emerson invested early in the development of products for A2L refrigerants and other sustainable options for the refrigeration industry. With the new generation of Copeland ZX outdoor refrigeration units for low GWP A2L refrigerants, Emerson is supporting system owners and contractors with a long-term alternative. Some benefits of the new solutions include refrigerant flexibility, F-Gas compliance, time, and cost savings due to a compact and light weight format design.

With the new range, Emerson offers a low GWP solution for refrigeration applications -satisfying space and noise constraints. The use of the new A2L-optimized Copeland scroll compressors reduces power consumption and saves operation costs. The new series of refrigeration units is approved for a variety of A2L-classified refrigerants with a low global warming potential, such as R454A, R454C and R455A — a major benefit that increases flexibility and eases logistics as one model fits most applications.

The modified hermetic design, the innovative control logic and the high-quality components enable legal compliance with the latest industry regulations for applications with A2L refrigerants. The advanced electronic controller allows for precise parameter control and displays the system status. Electronic protection functions and oil separator help ensure optimum system safety. With short installation time, superior efficiency and high reliability, this new generation helps customers to significantly reduce life cycle costs. The new Copeland ZX outdoor condensing units qualified for A2L refrigerants for low temperature applications have a system charge reduction thanks to mini channel condenser and meet space and noise constraints for refrigeration applications.
