Submissions open for HVACR professionals on AI, decarbonization, IEQ, and refrigeration
ASHRAE is inviting abstract submissions for its 2026 Winter Conference, which will take place from January 31 to February 4, 2026, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will feature technical sessions on emerging technologies, applied research, and strategies relevant to HVACR professionals and building engineers worldwide.
The technical program will include several dedicated tracks such as “Artificial Intelligence,” “Refrigerants and Refrigeration,” “Pathways to Building Decarbonization,” and the “Research Summit.” These topics reflect ongoing priorities in the HVACR sector, including sustainability, digitalization, and indoor environmental quality (IEQ).
“Indoor Environmental Quality for Healthy Buildings” will focus on system design and best practices to enhance occupant well-being, addressing ventilation, filtration, acoustics, and lighting. The “Artificial Intelligence” track explores the integration of AI and machine learning into building controls for better performance, security, and energy efficiency.
The “Refrigerants and Refrigeration” track will examine systems for food processing, cold chain logistics, vaccine preservation, and the conservation of sensitive materials. The “Future-Proofing the Built Environment” and “Energy Storage and Grid Resiliency” tracks will consider climate adaptation strategies and thermal/electrical storage innovations.
ASHRAE will also host the Research Summit, aimed at fostering dialogue between academic and industry researchers, with opportunities for publication in Science and Technology for the Built Environment.
“We’re excited to bring back the highly regarded Research Summit track, which continues to showcase innovative findings and foster meaningful dialogue among researchers and practitioners,” said Aaron Boranian, Technical Conference Chair. “We look forward to welcoming the global ASHRAE community to Las Vegas for a week of learning, collaboration and insights.”
Abstracts of 400 words or fewer are due by May 28, 2025. Final conference papers (up to 8 pages) are due September 3, 2025. Technical papers, limited to 30 pages, are also due by May 28, 2025. All accepted submissions will be considered for publication in ASHRAE’s archival journal.
