Panasonic Corporation announced today that its Cold Chain Solutions Company has entered into an agreement with Cooling Solutions S.L. to acquire all shares of its subsidiary Area Cooling Solutions Sp. z o.o., a Polish refrigeration equipment manufacturer. This strategic move aims to strengthen Panasonic’s condensing unit business in the European market and boost its global expansion efforts.
Panasonic, a leading manufacturer of CO2 condensing units in Japan, views Europe as a crucial market for future growth.
Area Cooling is an innovative company that heavily invests in growth areas such as inverter-controlled and CO2 condensing units. Its products are technologically aligned with Panasonic’s units, as they have long used Panasonic-designed compressors. This compatibility influenced Panasonic’s decision, believing this acquisition would fortify its European business foundation. The acquisition does not include Area Cooling’s distribution business of compressors and other HVACR components.
Area Cooling and Panasonic will share resources and create synergies in the condensing unit business. Their collaboration aims to develop products that better meet customer needs, manufacture locally in Europe, and enhance the presence of Panasonic condensing units in the European market.
