NewCold’s Global Innovation and Support Center Nearing Completion

NewCold’s Global Innovation and Support Center Nearing Completion

NewCold’s advanced Global Innovation and Support Center in Breda, the Netherlands, is set to finish soon, reflecting the company’s rapid growth.

“Our people are central to NewCold’s success, and this new space is more than just a building; it’s a hub for innovation and operational excellence,” said Bram Hage, NewCold Founder and CEO.

The facility is designed to support the current team and future expansion, encouraging collaboration with extensive amenities including a dedicated training center for seminars and onboarding new employees.

Employee well-being is prioritized, with features like a breastfeeding room, prayer room, locker rooms with showers, a lounge area, and a socializing bar named “Cooldown.”

Sustainability is a key focus, with 555 solar panels and 1,400 concrete panels integrated into the design. A garden seamlessly blends the building with its natural surroundings.

The office layout mirrors NewCold’s logo with nine blocks and a clean, bright, square-shaped exterior, emphasizing the connection between NewCold and its customers, environment, and community.

The Breda center is expected to be ready by January 2025.

Case Study – Effect of Louvers or diffusers on air flow distribution and cooling time on a meat log during Chill cycle

By Kushal Aurangabadkar An experimental analysis was conducted on a cooler space measuring 3.66 m × 6.096 m (12.0 ft × 20.0 ft), equipped with an ammonia refrigeration coil, five 30 cm (12 in.) fans, and five diffusers. The study measured airflow patterns, cooling rates, and heat transfer efficiency in meat storage by testing two configurations:

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Modular Refrigeration Systems in Life Sciences Distribution Centers

by Ramez Naguib, P.E. Introduction Life sciences distribution centers are under immense pressure to deliver consistent temperature control, comply with increasingly stringent regulations, and optimize operational efficiency. Traditional built-up refrigeration systems often prove cumbersome, costly, and slow to implement. In contrast, modular, factory-assembled refrigeration systems have emerged as a compelling alternative. Drawing on lessons from
