CAREL celebrated a remarkable achievement at the 2024 AIRAH Awards in Melbourne, as the Woolworths Metro Gadsen project, featuring CAREL’s innovative Heosbox CO₂ technology, won accolades in Excellence in Refrigeration and Excellence in Sustainability categories.
The project centers on the Heosbox CO₂, an advanced CO₂ Waterloop system renowned for its energy efficiency, sustainability, and reliability. Designed for subcritical commercial refrigeration applications, this water-cooled condensing unit utilizes BLDC variable-speed compressors and electronic expansion valves to ensure continuous modulation and precise control. This results in thermal stability and optimal food preservation.
A standout feature of the Heosbox CO₂ is its advanced IoT capabilities, offering local and remote monitoring, predictive analytics, and dedicated services, which enhance operational reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
The AIRAH Awards are highly esteemed within Australia’s HVAC&R industry, recognizing outstanding achievements in refrigeration, renewable energy, and innovation. Projects are evaluated by an independent expert panel to honor exceptional quality and sustainability.
