KARYER has contributed CO2-compatible heat exchangers to a transcritical refrigeration demonstration unit developed for engineering training in India. Coordinated by Frascold India, the system is designed to support training on natural refrigerants and was installed and commissioned at Frascold India facilities.
The fully operational model enables engineers to observe transcritical operation and system behavior in real time. Training topics include CO2 properties, refrigeration cycles, comparisons with HFC cycles, safety, and regulations.
KARYER supplied a CO2-compatible gas cooler and evaporator designed for operation under high-pressure conditions. According to the company, the components support stable performance, efficiency, and accurate system response.
The collaborative project is described as one of the first dedicated CO2 transcritical training systems of its kind in India. It was developed as low-GWP refrigerants such as CO2 become more common in refrigeration systems amid efforts to reduce HFC consumption.
